With a modern facility, the BUAP Arena will be a benchmark for sporting, cultural and artistic events in Puebla , said President Alfonso Esparza Ortiz when he inaugurated, together with Governor José Antonio Gali Fayad and Mayor Luis Banck Serrato , this space multifunctional that demonstrates the Institution’s commitment to provide its students with better opportunities for comprehensive development.
In a festive atmosphere, enlivened by the student community , he made it clear that the BUAP Arena is much more than an architectural work : “It is a space to live together, to generate synergies and work as a team, to collaborate together and continue to make BUAP the best institution in the country ”, said the rector.
“This space that we are launching today has been completely renovated. The «Ignacio Manuel Altamirano » Sports Center — opened in 1984 — previously housed 12 disciplines , now it has been expanded to have a greater sports offer, «he said.
There, the governor stressed that it is essential to rescue and dignify spaces for the benefit of students and teachers . In this sense, he informed that the BUAP Arena had an investment of more than 87 million pesos.
After stressing that BUAP has had great academic and sports achievements, such as the arrival of the Lobos BUAP team in the first division of Mexican soccer , he expressed that during his administration it will be a priority to maintain a coordinated work with the University , with the aim of maintaining actions that improve student development .
Likewise, it was pronounced that the state and municipal governments continue a teamwork with the Highest House of Studies in Puebla , «to enhance the pride of feeling university».
In the BUAP Arena , which was attended by students from all faculties and schools , directors of academic units and officials from the central administration , basketball masteron steroid , handball and volleyball training and games will take place .
In the basement, a gym for high-performance athletes , a fitness-bodybuilding gym , areas for boxing , fencing and various martial arts were installed , as well as for the cheerleading school .
